The Chautauqua Festival Committee has started to get things in order for this 2013′s Gladstone Chautauqua Festival. For this year the Festival will be held on Friday the 2nd, Saturday the 3rd and Sunday the 4th.

The Committee has sent me a couple updated applications that have been updated on the Applications page. Once they have finished the rest of the applications I will update the rest.

I will also be updating the look of the site and possibly be moving to a new platform. So stay tuned for new information and a new look soon.

Reminder: Spaghetti Dinner Thursday!

Tomorrow, August 2nd from 4 PM to 7 PM, is the Gladstone Chautauqua Festival Spaghetti Dinner. It will be held at Max Patterson Park and will cost $5. The menu includes Guido’s spaghetti with Italian sausage, salad and garlic bread. We have had great turn outs so far, so please support the Gladstone Chautauqua Festival by stopping by for dinner!

8th Annual Empowerment Day Run & Walk

On Saturday August 4th, 2012, the Sherie Hildreth Ovarian Cancer Foundation will be holding their 8th annual Empowerment Day Run & Walk. For those looking to be involved this year, hurry! Online registration closes tomorrow, August 1st at 10pm.

Event Details:

Join 1,000 runners and walkers on Saturday, August 4th, 2012. Offering a timed 5k and 10k walk or run option, along with an untimed 1-Mile Family Fun Walk, the course offers a casual stroll or an invigorating run along the peaceful Clackamas River and throughout the quaint town of Gladstone, Oregon. Empowerment Day is an oppurtunity for families, business, survivors and supporters from surrounding communities to come together for a common cause. Like in years past, dogs and strollers are welcome!

Empowerment Day supports the SHOC Foundation’s mission to provide funding for ovarian cancer research, to educate women about early detection of ovarian cancer, and to empower women recovering from ovarian cancer to find emotional, spiritual and physical balance and well-being. All proceeds less operational costs from the event will be donated to the Gynecologic Research Lab at OHSU’s Knight Cancer Institute in Portland, Oregon.

2011′s event raised $38,000, and we’re hoping to reach $50,000 for 2012!

2012 Gladstone Chautauqua Festival Parade

One of the most beloved parts of the Gladstone Chautauqua Festival is the parade on Saturday morning. The parade contestants will assemble at 8:30 AM and the parade starts at 10 AM. Families line up along the parade route for candy and other goodies being tossed by the floats. If you are interested in being part of the parade, the deadline for entries is quickly approaching. The deadline is August 2nd and for those that are interested, please print out the parade application, read the rules, fill it out, and mail it to:

Gladstone Chautauqua Festival Community Spaghetti Dinner

The Gladstone Chautauqua Festival is sponsoring a Community Spaghetti Dinner to kick off the annual Chautauqua Festival. Stop by, have dinner and support this important community event. Bring your family, friends and neighbors!

The spaghetti dinner will be held on Thursday, August 2nd from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Max Patterson Park. The cost is $5 and helps support the Chautauqua Festival. Dinner includes Guido’s spaghetti with Italian sausage, salad and garlic bread.

Proceeds benefit the Gladstone Chautauqua Festival – Proud sponsor of Gladstone’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt.

Gladstone Chautauqua Festival 2012 Flyer

The flyer for the 2012 Gladstone Chautauqua Festival is out. Other events occurring this weekend include the Gladstone Public Library Book Sale, the Chili Cook-Off and Talent Show on Sunday, and more.
